Bride Wars: Shop Owner Promises To Deliver Dresses

The owner of a Miamisburg bridal company is promising panicked brides that they will get their wedding dresses.

Reporter Kathryn Burcham spoke with owner Sharon Arnett about the sudden closure of Sharnett's Bridal and Prom shop that is located across from the Dayton Mall.

The shop suddenly closed this week and the brides said no one answered the door or returned telephone calls and emails.

Marsha Kemp, the mother of a bride said, "They're scared that their big day is going to come and they're going to be walking down the aisle in their under clothes!"

Kemp and other brides and their families held a meeting last night to discuss the issue. One bride has a wedding planned this Saturday.

News Center 7's Kathryn Burcham traveled to Phillipsburg to track the shop owner down. Sharon Arnett said she was too busy delivering dresses to do an interview, but in a telephone conversation she promised to deliver dressses to every bride who is waiting for one. Arnett said she spoke to approximately 35 brides on Thursday and has already delivered some of the gowns.

Miamisburg police said if Arnett doesn't give the brides their dresses, she could face criminal consequences. They have already taken close to 100 complaints about Arnett and her bridal shop.
