Buckle Up For Safety Destinction Again For Celina Police

The Celina Police Department has been notified that they have once again been chosen as one of the top Safety Belt Enforcement and Education law enforcement agencies in the State of Ohio.

This recognition comes from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office and places the Celina Police Department in line for an opportunity to win a free police cruiser.

This year, 40 law enforcement agencies were chosen for this honor. Representatives from each of those agencies will attend the Ohio Law Enforcement Expo on Sept. 2, 2009, where they will have an opportunity to win one of five police cruisers being given away by the Ohio Department of Public Safety.

The Celina Police Department qualified for this contest six consecutive years. In the past the department has won two police cruisers; a 2006 Ford Police Interceptor and a 2007 Ford Police Interceptor. Those wins came in the fourth and fifth year the department qualified.

The only other area agency to qualify this year was Wapakoneta Police Department.
