DP&L Builds Solar Power Field

Dayton Power and Light is turning to solar power. The company said construction of the largest solar power array in southwest Ohio begins this month.

The facility will be built on seven acres near the company’s Yankee substation in Washington Township, which is near the Yankee Trace Golf Course.

The facility will have 9,000 solar panels and will generate enough electricity to power nearly 150 homes.

The project is expected to cost around $5 million dollars.
