A Carillon Christmas will begin today with the illumination of the Carillon Tree of Light.
The Deeds Carillon, a beloved bell tower, is one of Dayton’s best-known landmarks and the largest carillon in Ohio. It will be transformed into the shape of a Christmas tree towering 200 feet into the air and glowing with more than 20,000 white lights on nearly 100 strands.

The display, which will shine from dusk to dawn and be accompanied by programmed carillon music, was going up Friday in preparation a month of holiday festivities at the park.
For this year, the lights will be better secured after strong winds severely damaged the inaugural Tree of Light and led to its removal in mid-December.
