A company cleaning out a Schwartz Drive home for the relative of a deceased couple found a Japanese grenade and mortar round, according to Specialist Mike Grimes, commander of the unit.
“We are assessing them to see how dangerous they are,” he said, noting they were likely brought home as war souvenirs.
The items will be safely detonated by the bomb squad, according to Grimes.
