The Internet just won’t let Harambe die and neither, it seems, will one college sports team.

When UMass Lowell men's soccer team plays Brown tonight, the team's in-game promotion will be dedicated to the 17-year-old western lowland gorilla whose death at the Cincinnati Zoo made headlines locally and worldwide.

A blurb on the fall sports promotions portion of the university's website proclaims Sept. 14 as "Harambe Night: Join us in celebrating the life of Harambe. The first 100 students will receive a stuffed gorilla to commemorate the life of the legendary Harambe."

Through its Twitter account, the university touted Harambe Night with "Have a gorilla suit? Wear it to the game for a chance to win prizes!"

Following the zoo incident, a new, higher barrier was installed around the Gorilla World exhibit, which reopened June 7 with additional safety measures in place, a move praised by zoo visitors, but Harambe went on to become a popular meme.
