Columbus Taxi Companies Seek Increased Fares

Officials in Columbus said it is going to cost more to take a taxi cab. They said the increased prices in gas have put the squeeze on taxi cab companies.

Taxi cab companies are asking City Council to approve an increase in fares. The drivers want to increase the basic fee for a cab ride to $2.75, which is up from the current rate of $2.

The council said the increase will likely be approved.
