$500K bond set against two Kettering men accused of child rape

Bond was set Wednesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for two Kettering men accused of raping a child.

Jason E. Purkey, 45, and Todd E. Marshall Jr., 26, are being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $500,000 bond, according to jail records.

Kettering men accused of rape involving child

Purkey is charged in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court with rape (by force or threat) and having weapons while under disability. Meanwhile, Marshall is charged with multiple counts of rape of a person younger than 13.

The two are accused of performed sex acts with the victim at their residence in the 900 block of East Dorothy Lane, according to Kettering Municipal Court affidavits.

The victim is known to the suspects, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

The charging document says Marshall began this Jan. 1, 2015, through March 31, 2019. The victim was 10-years-old when the assaults began, the affidavit said.

The crimes for which Purkey is accused reportedly happened from Jan. 1, 2018, to May 31, 2019. Both men were also charged with disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

A next court date in the cases has not been set.
