“After multiple attempts, deputies made contact with the subject and the subject came out of hiding. The subject was later placed into custody without further incident,” the sheriff’s office stated in a release.

Celina police on Oct. 1 issued an alert for Gross. They said he has a violent history and was wanted in three northern counties in the Miami Valley — Mercer, Auglaize and Shelby — on drug-related charges.

He also is wanted by the state of Missouri for property damage, according to the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting at the traffic stop were the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, St. Marys, Celina and Wright State Lake Campus police departments, and the Grand Lake Task Force.
