Dayton police Lt. Jason Hall declined to identify the suspects until formal charges are filed.

The robbery was reported around 7:30 a.m. at the Wyoming Mini Mart, 1820 Wyoming St. Two suspects showed a gun in the attempted robbery, but ran into a person with a CCW permit as they were leaving the market.

The man with the CCW fired one round in self defense, Hall said.

One round was fired inside the market, but no injuries were reported.

The suspects ran from the store and were caught just before 8 a.m. in the 1300 block of Xenia Avenue in Dayton.

Hall praised crews for finding and detaining the suspects, who had tried to change their clothes in an attempt to disguise themselves.

The suspects were interviewed and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

Police will discuss charges with the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office, but the suspects likely will face aggravated robbery, felonious assault and weapons charges, Hall said.

We will continue to update this story as more information is available.
