Arrest made in W. Carrollton bank robbery

Police have arrested a man suspected of robbing the Farmers & Merchants Bank on Monday, West Carrollton Police Chief Doug Woodard said.

Gregory Martin, 34, is being detained in the Montgomery County Jail pending the filing of a felony robbery charge, according to online jail records. He also is awaiting a parole hearing, which has not been scheduled, according to the records.

The arrest was made following a SWAT call out Tuesday at the Franklin Commons Apartments, on Conover Drive in Franklin. The SWAT team and Franklin police were there to assist West Carrollton police in the investigation.

Police were able to narrow their search to a man in Apt. 577, who submitted to questioning and then was taken into custody.

The Farmers and Merchant Bank, 3235 W. Alex Bell Road, was robbed around 1:45 p.m. Monday.

UPDATE @ 5 p.m. (Nov. 18): Police have arrested the man suspected of robbing the Farmers & Merchants Bank, West Carrollton Police Chief Doug Woodard said.

Police are not releasing his name until he is booked into the Montgomery County Jail later this evening, Woodard said.

The arrest was made following a SWAT call out this afternoon at the Franklin Commons Apartments, on Conover Drive in Franklin. The SWAT team and Franklin police were there to assist West Carrollton police in the investigation.

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m. (Nov. 17): The man who robbed the Farmers & Merchants Bank possibly has red dye on his skin or his clothes.

The robber also got away with cash from the robbery on West Alex Bell Road.

Police describe him as white with a brown goatee, approximately 6-feet-1 inches tall, about 170 pounds and in his mid 30s. He was wearing blue jeans, black shoes, and a grey zip hoodie with white lettering across the chest.

His getaway vehicle is believed to be dark, four-door sedan bearing Ohio license tags. A partial ID on those tags is “GIM,” according to police.

Scanner reports indicate police are looking for a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
