2 arrested in Talawanda Middle School bomb threats

Two students face felony charges in bomb threats at Talawanda Middle School.

A written bomb threat was found Friday morning on a bathroom wall at the school, and a similar incident happened Thursday at the school, 4030 Oxford Reily Road, the Oxford Division of Police posted Friday to its Facebook page.

The threats led Oxford police and the Miami University Explosives Detection Canine Unit to check the school as a precaution Neither threat was credible and no suspicious devices were found, police said.

A student was arrested Friday for the threat Thursday and charged with felony inducing panic. Following Friday’s threat, a second student was arrested and also charged with felony inducing panic.

Oxford police urged parents on its social media page to talk to their children about making false reports. “These actions are NOT funny, and the consequences for inducing panic in a school environment are very serious.”
