Both drivers hurt in 2-vehicle collision on Ohio 49

A two-vehicle collision on Ohio 49 and Wolf Creek Pike on Friday night sent both drivers to a hospital.

The drivers, both of whom are female, were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available, said Trooper Thip Vongsy, Ohio Highway Patrol.

According to the preliminary investigation, a silver Santa Fe headed west on Wolf Creek at about 8:15 p.m. was involved in a collision with a red Dodge Journey attempting a left turn from Wolf Creek onto 49, Vongsy said.

Drugs and alcohol are part of the ongoing investigation, he said.

The accident caused the partial shutdown of 49 for a time. It has since reopened.
