Police in Miami Twp. tracked down a man who allegedly broke into a home Wednesday night and attacked a pregnant woman.

Officers found Cornelius Dillard Jr., 39, hiding in a plastic storage tub in a Fairborn home at approximately 2 a.m., just hours after he allegedly assaulted the Miami Twp. victim at her home, according to Miami Twp. Capt. John Magill.

The suspect allegedly kicked in the woman’s door and struck her in the stomach, Magill said.

The victim and the suspect have a child together, but she is now pregnant from another man, Magill said.

The victim appears to be OK and there are no signs of trauma to her unborn child, he said.

Dillard is being held in the Montgomery County Jail as investigators present charges to the prosecutor’s office.
