The robber passed a note to a teller that read, “Robbery, I have a gun,” just before 5 p.m. Oct. 30 at the New Carlisle Federal Savings Bank, 833 Villa Road in Springfield.

The teller gave the robber money from the drawer when the man turned to another teller and said, “Give me all of yours, too,” and the employee complied, according to a release from Springfield police.

The robber fled on foot and later was seen heading south behind Kroger.

The robber took the note with him. He never showed a gun, although witnesses said he kept his hands in his pockets as if he had a weapon, police said.

The robber is described as a man between 35 and 45 who stands about 5 feet 7 inches, weighs 150 pounds with brown hair, a scruffy beard and a tattoo of a clock on top of his left hand. At the time of the holdup, he wore a floppy dark hat with bandanna underneath, a black hoodie, green camouflage cargo pants and dark sunglasses.

Anyone with information or who can identify the robber is urged to contact detective Jamie McCutcheon at 937-324-7709.
