Suboxone strips are a prescription medicine used as part of treatment programs for addiction to opoids, including heroin. Smuggling of the strips is an increasing problem at prisons around the country.
Huy and Dirr each face three counts of illegal conveyance of drugs into a prison and three counts of possession of criminal tools.
They were charged in indictments issued by a Warren County grand jury, according to a report issued Monday by the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office.
Dirr is to be arraigned on Dec. 4 in Warren County Common Pleas Court. No arraignment date had been set for Huy, who is serving four years in the prison for drug trafficking.
