A competency hearing was ordered for a 10-year-old charged with domestic violence after he allegedly chased his sister with a knife.
The boy appeared in Butler County Juvenile Court last week and Magistrate Patricia Wilkerson ordered the hearing and released him from the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center. He was ordered not to have any contact with the alleged victim, who is 12, unless there was adult supervision, according to court records. He also was ordered not to have any weapons.
His next hearing is Jan. 16, according to court documents.
On Nov. 21, Middletown police were called to a home on Sharon Court. A woman there told police while she was at work, her 10-year-old son grabbed several kitchen knives and chased his sister around the house. He was upset because his sister took the TV remote control, according to a police report.
