Crash victim’s death caused by natural causes

HAMILTON — A 59-year-old man involved in a one-vehicle crash Thursday, July 30, died of natural causes, not of accident-related injuries, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Thomas Eichhold, of the Lindenwald neighborhood, was transported about 4:25 p.m. from the crash scene to The Fort Hamilton Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Hamilton Police Department.

A preliminary investigation indicates the pickup truck Eichhold was driving traveled through several yards on the south side of Arlington Avenue before striking a tree and rolling over.

Eichhold’s death was ruled natural from heart and lung illness, according to Debbie Lacey, coroner’s investigator.

“This was not a fatal crash,” she said.
