Hardin also drove to an East Factory Road home and punched the resident. He took the resident’s gun and fired two shots into the ground before throwing the gun at the resident.

Hardin was reportedly intoxicated during the incident.

Sheriff’s deputies found Hardin’s great-uncle bleeding and with multiple bruises.

John Hardin died Sept. 29, according to the coroner’s office.

Jeffery Hardin was initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated burglary, felonious assault and vandalism, according to court records.

However, the charges were dropped after Hardin pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
