Deputies investigating possible bathroom recording at Butler County courthouse

Butler County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the possible filming of person in a bathroom at the Government Services Center.

A boy came into the lobby on the second floor about 3:30 p.m. and alerted court security that “a man is recording my father in the bathroom. In the stall.”

Deputies talked with the suspect in the men’s bathroom. The alleged victim also talked with deputies and demonstrated what he saw using his own smart phone.

Sgt. Ed Tanner said the suspect denied any wrongdoing, but the investigation is continuing, and it will include obtaining a search warrant for the suspect’s phone.

The alleged victim and son were escorted by deputies to the parking garage after the suspect left yelling obscenities.
