Hearing for Hamilton man charged with child rape continued

The pre-trial hearing for a Hamilton man charged with multiple counts of child rape has been continued until later this month.

Daniel W. Broxterman, 56, of Brookwood Drive, was indicated by a Butler County grand jury on 10 charges of rape, two counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles and gross sexual imposition, according to court records.

Butler County Common Pleas Judge Charles Pater set Broxterman’s bond at $1 million during his arraignment. His pre-trial hearing, scheduled for this morning, was continued until 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24, according to records.

Butler County Assistant Prosecutor Kelly Heile said the crimes involve multiple victims.

A rape report was made to Hamilton Police on July 22, which is when the investigation began. Rape reports were also filed on Aug. 2 and Aug. 4, according to police records.
