Kettering man accused of flashing young girls

Police in Sugarcreek Twp. said a Kettering man, accused of flashing two juvenile girls at a local eatery, returned to the restaurant with the intent of doing it again.

David J. Stickel, 65, was arrested Saturday at his home on suspicion of public indecency, hours after employees at Panera Bread, at Wilmington Pike and Clyo Road, called police to report he had returned, according to police.

Sugarcreek Twp. Sgt. Mark White said two juvenile girls took a photo of Stickel as he was exposing himself to them inside the restaurant earlier in the week.

Police had been on the lookout for the suspect when Stickel went into Panera on Saturday. White said he was at it again, looking for potential victims.

White said Stickel got spooked and left the store but was arrested later at his home.

White praised the girls for their quick actions to record the incident.

"Without that cell phone photo, it would be their word against his word," White said. "It exposed him in the act."

Stickel was released from jail and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
