McKenzie pleaded guilty in May to felony manslaughter. He will also have to serve five years of post-release supervision.
"I wish there was a better word than sorry, but there is nothing more ... Everyone is judging me. I'm not some evil person because I'm not showing emotion," McKenzie told the court, according to WWNY reports.
Hunsbarger told the court his son's "name and memory still brings smiles, but now coupled with a very deep pain and sorrow."
McKenzie was baby-sitting Braylin in July 2013 when he became frustrated by the child's crying and threw the infant onto a baby swing that propelled him into a wall face first.
The infant died from massive brain injuries after being taken off life support in a Syracuse hospital the following day.
