A man was transported to a local hospital and his dog was taken to a local veterinarian after an incident with another dog this afternoon at the corner of Lawn Avenue and Cherry Street in Middletown, according to city officials.

The man was taken to Atrium Medical Center with unknown injuries, and his dog was receiving medical attention at All About Pet Care, said Shelby Quinlivan, city spokesperson.

She said the other dog involved in the incident has not been located. She did not know the breeds of the dogs.
