Bradley Jackson of Dayton is facing two felonious assault charges, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report released Thursday.
A Dayton police report stated that Jackson used a 29-inch Louisville Slugger to strike the woman in the face Aug. 10 in the parking lot of Paradise Key Cafe, 3243 Needmore Road in Dayton. He also was indicted for the assault of a man as well, court documents show. Jackson is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. He has been held in the Montgomery County Jail since his Aug. 10 arrest.
FIRST REPORT (Aug. 10)
A 27-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly used a baseball bat to strike a woman in the parking lot at Paradise Key Cafe, 3243 Needmore Road.
Dayton officers responded at 12:36 a.m. Wednesday to the scene where several people witnessed the alleged assault, according to the Dayton police report.
Police said the suspect, Bradley Jackson, was arguing with a woman over a drug deal while sitting in a vehicle in the lot and the alleged victim approached in an effort to help.
The suspect got out of the car with a 29-inch Louisville Slugger in his hand and started waving it around and making threats at people, according to the report.
He then approached the alleged victim and struck her in the face with the bat, according to the report.
Both the suspect and the victim were treated for injuries at the scene by medics, but neither was transported to the hospital.
Police said the woman that the suspect was reportedly arguing with fled the scene before officers arrived.
Jackson is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault.
