Man strikes guardrail, fence at electrical substation in suspected OVI crash

A suspected impaired driver struck a guardrail and fence in front of an electrical substation in Darke County.

Deputies and medics responded around 2:35 a.m. Sunday to a crash in the 5100 block of Sebring Warner Road.

Preliminary investigation found that a red 2000 GMC Sonoma driven by Jordan Gary, 27, of Greenville, was traveling south on Sebring Warner Road when it went off the right side of the road, according to a release from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck hit the guardrail and fence in front of an electrical substation before coming to rest.

Gary was taken to Wayne ER by Greenville Twp. Rescue.

Deputies said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
