Man tells police he’ll crawl home, gets arrested

VANDALIA – Loud arguing was heard on Waller Avenue in a multi-family parking lot off East National Road as an intoxicated man sitting in a puddle of his own urine screamed obscenities at a male and female standing outside the building.

He appeared to be intoxicated and was asked to find a sober person to take him to his nearby home.

Instead, the 53-year-old man positioned himself on his hands and knees and said he would crawl home since he was too intoxicated to walk. The officer told him that was dangerous, as it was starting to get dark.

Pursuing his crawl technique the man was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and booked into the Montgomery County jail. Entertainment for the couple arguing with him was finished for the evening.
