Man who shot 4-year-old Urbana girl with BB gun sentenced

A man who shot a 4-year-old Urbana girl in the head with a BB gun in August was sentenced Wednesday.

Chad King Jr. was sentenced to 90 days in jail and ordered to pay more than $1,000 in court costs and fines.

King, 19, of Columbus, was arrested in September for shooting an airsoft BB gun at random people in Urbana and striking Maci Clay near her home. At the time of the incident, King was a student at Urbana University and was driving back to the campus.

He was charged with assault, obstructing official business and throwing or shooting misses. King will begin serving his sentence Nov. 15.
