Jason Maxwell Bittner, 33, was sentenced Tuesday to serve eight years in prison for child endangering, Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said Tuesday evening.

Bittner also faced a felonious assault charge, which was dismissed as part of an October plea deal in Warren County Common Pleas Court.

Bittner’s daughter was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Feb. 28 and was diagnosed with injuries that included bilateral subdural hemorrhages, brain injury, retinal hemorrhages, 28 rib fractures and facial bruising, according to police and prosecutors.

Bittner, who worked as a chiropractor in West Chester Twp., was resentful his second child was a girl and not a boy, according to Fornshell, who said Bittner also was intolerant of a “fussy” infant.

Investigators determined the abuse happened Feb. 26, but that the child did not receive medical treatment for more than two days.
