Ex-Miamisburg teacher’s trial on teen sex charges: Who might testify?

Several Miamisburg school administrators have been subpoenaed in the case of a former middle school teacher indicted on charges of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor student.

Eight district administrators and two unnamed minors are among those identified on 18 subpoenas issued Wednesday in the criminal case against Jessica Langford in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Langford, 32, of Centerville, is scheduled to go on trial in April. Among those who may testify, according to court records, include:

-Steve Homan, assistant superintendent;

-Katy Lucas, assistant superintendent;

-Scott Gilbert, director of business;

-Kelly Thomas, MMS principal;

-Eric Lenski, MMS assistant principal;

-Sommer Mastronardi, MMS assistant principal;

-Stacie Moore, director of secondary education;

-Jason Shade, assistant athletic director.

The two minors are listed by initials only. Other subpoenas were issued for other MMS staff, as well as a social worker at Care House on Valley Street in Dayton.

Langford was indicted Nov. 14 on three counts of sexual battery and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. On Nov. 21, she pleaded not guilty to all counts and has remained free on conditional recognizance, court records show.

According to court records filed in December, Langford is accused of performing oral sex on and receiving oral sex from a teenage Miamisburg Middle School student in late May.

Langford is also accused of having intercourse with the teen, according to the documents filed by the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

The documents were in response to Langford’s request that prosecutors name her accuser and provide specific allegations she faces.

The prosecutor’s office identifies the alleged victim only by initials.

Langford resigned from Miamisburg schools May 24, shortly after being informed of the allegations, according to school district records.

She was hired as a student teacher in the Miamisburg district in 2006 and served in a similar capacity in Dayton Public Schools, records show.

Miamisburg City Schools records requested by this news outlet in the spring show the woman had a solid tenure in the district. She was hired full time in August 2008, serving nearly nine years at three schools while receiving good evaluations, records show.
