Middletown father faces child endangering charge

A child endangering case involving a Middletown father has been bound over to the Butler County Grand Jury, according to court records.

Allen D. Brown, 28, is charged with the second-degree felony after police were called earlier this month to an apartment in the 200 block of South Broad Street on a report of possible abuse.

The boy’s mother told police she took the 6-week-old baby to a local hospital after his breathing wasn’t normal, his limbs were jerking and his eyes wouldn’t open, the police report said.

She said the boy’s father was with the child at the time of the alleged abuse.

Middletown Municipal Court Judge Mark Wall bound the case over and Brown was transferred to the Butler County Jail.

Police have not released the condition of the boy.
