Motorcyclist resuscitated after crash in Brookville

A motorcyclist was resuscitated by medics Friday night on the way to Miami Valley Hospital following a crash in Brookville, troopers said.

The 33-year-old woman was traveling west on East Westbrook Road around 7:15 p.m. near Albert Road when she crashed into a tree, coming to rest in the front yard of a home.

"The injuries to the female rider are life-threatening," said Sgt. John C. Chesser of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

He said the woman, whose name was not released, didn't have vital signs and was resusitated by medics. She was wearing her helmet, Chesser said.

Althouth no one saw the accident, Chesser said witnesses reported that she had been driving recklessly.

"She was observed driving left of center farther east on Westbrook," he said.

The crash, and whether alcohol was a factor, remains under investigation.
