Curry, 29, also is accused of felonious assault, kidnapping and other charges related to events on Easter, the day he was apprehended by police. Curry is being held at the Greene County Jail with his bond ordered at $1 million.
Curry had been indicted for a different incident in July 2011 in which a police report said Curry choked his girlfriend to the point of unconsciousness several times, struck her and threatened to kill her several times. Curry never stood trial for those offenses since he was at large.
Curry also has prior convictions, including possession of crack cocaine and cocaine trafficking in Franklin County in 2007.
Around 11 a.m. on Easter Sunday, police received a report that Curry was involved in an assault at 597 E. Second St. in Xenia.
Police said an off-duty officer responding to the call noticed Curry walking on Jasper Road in Jamestown. Officers arrested Curry around 12:30 p.m. and he was booked into the Greene County Jail.
“It’s been, for us, a long time coming to make this arrest,” Xenia police Sgt. Todd LeMaster said after Curry’s arrest. “It’s been a while since we’ve had a subject wanted for murder that we haven’t located rapidly.”
