Occupants ditch stolen car after crash in Dayton

A car crashed through a fence tonight and came to rest in a front yard an hour after it was reported stolen.

The occupants ditched the stolen car after it crashed around 10:15 p.m. in the 1200 block of Superior Avenue, Dayton police said. There were no injuries reported.

The car did not strike the house, despite initial reports that the car hit the building.

A person arrived on scene to say the car was theirs, but police said the vehicle registration did not match that person’s information. The car was to be towed from the scene.
