Owner of car in fatal Trotwood hit-and-run crash indicted on unrelated drug charges

A 27-year-old man whose car was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Trotwood in January was indicted again today, this time on drug charges unrelated to the crash.

Jamar Edward Hill of Trotwood is charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, two counts of aggravated possession of drugs and two counts of possession of cocaine, according to a Montgomery County grand jury report.

According to the indictment, the drugs involved are fentanyl and cocaine.

Hill has been held in the Montgomery County Jail since his June 13 arrest.

He was indicted June 11 for tampering with evidence stemming from the Jan. 18 traffic death of a pedestrian, 40-year-old Nathan Hairston, in the 4800 block of Free Pike in Trotwood. He pleaded not guilty to the charge in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. It is not known who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Hill is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on the latest charges, according to court documents.
