Huber Heights police are trying to determine if someone shot out a car’s window just before the driver crashed into a wall on Interstate 70 west at Ohio 235 in Huber Heights on Thursday morning.
The single car crash happened about 6:30 a.m. when the car ran into the median. Paramedics reported to the scene, according to scanner traffic, but it’s not clear if anyone was injured.
The motorist told police that he was driving past a car dealership in Fairborn when someone driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck made a u-turn and started chasing him, according to scanner traffic.
While the driver who said he was being chased was on the Ohio 235 ramp to I-70 west, he heard several popping sounds that he thought were gunshots, according to scanner traffic. When the motorist got on I-70 west, the Dodge Ram passed him on the left side and kept going on I-70 west.
The car that was being chased crashed then crashed into the median. The rear passenger side window of the car is shattered.
