Police: Middletown man stabbed near McDonald’s suffered head wound

A Middletown man suffered a stab wound to the head after an apparent road rage incident Thursday night near Verity Parkway and Germantown Road, according to police.

The incident turned physical at about 10:45 p.m. when vehicles were turning out of McDonald’s, said Middletown police Maj. Scott Reeve.

Billy Joe Ledford, 50, of Middletown, was stabbed during a fight in the middle of Verity Parkway, according to the police report. He was taken to a local hospital, then taken by medical helicopter to a Dayton hospital, where he is expected to recover, according to Reeve.

Two other people were involved in the disturbance and have been interviews, but charges have not been filed. Reeve said the case likely will be presented directly to a Butler County grand jury for a possible felonious assault charge.
