Police remind residents to lock cars after string of thefts in Greene County

Xenia police are reminding area residents to lock their cars after a string of thefts were reported outside of the city limits.

“We have had several inquiries from concerned citizens about a possible string of ‘robberies’ which have occurred on the east side of [Greene] County,” read the department’s Facebook page. “ We looked into it and learned that there was a string of thefts outside the city, but they were not robberies.”

The incidents were thefts from vehicles in driveways.

At least one vehicle was stolen, according to police.

Anyone with information on the thefts should contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Office’s Detective Section at 937-562-4810.

“This is a good reminder to make sure your car doors are locked, your garage door is down and that you do not leave valuable property like bikes in your front yard,” the post read.
