From Middletown police reports:

Dec. 9

A shoplifting suspect returned to Kohl’s in Middletown the next day and was caught by a loss prevention officer, according to police. Britney Allmyer, 24, was charged with theft after allegedly shoplifting at the Kohl’s store on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9. The loss prevention officer at Kohl’s reported to police that Allmyer allegedly had been seen Dec. 8 selecting several fragrance bottles, reportedly taking off the tags and concealing the perfume inside her purse. The store security officer said Allmyer drove away before he could reach her, and that she returned to the store the next day and allegedly tried to steal fragrance bottles. Allmyer was stopped in the parking lot and escorted back inside Kohl’s. Police reported Allmyer admitted to the thefts. The store reported that the fragrances stolen had a value of $451. Allmyer was arrested for theft and taken to the city jail.

Dec. 10

Police responded to a hit-and-run crash at Shell Gas Station on Verity Parkway. Witnesses said a gold-colored sport-utility vehicle had jumped the median on Verity, entered the gas station parking lot, struck a blue pickup truck and then struck the gas station building. The driver then backed up and drove off onto Nelbar Street. Officers traced the license plate reported by witnesses to an address in the 3000 block of Illinois Avenue, where police reportedly found the suspected vehicle in front. Regina Richmond, 34, answered the knock at her door and reportedly admitted to driving the vehicle. Police reported that Richmond was unsteady on her feet and had bloodshot eyes, and that she allegedly failed field sobriety tests. Richmond was charged with fleeing the scene of an accident and driving under the influence and transported to the city jail. The vehicle was towed.

Dec. 3

Police responded to a hit-skip accident at Ohio 122 and Marshall Road. The complainant reported Jeffrey Barton, 39, of Springboro, was heading westbound on Ohio 122 and ran a red light, striking the complainant’s vehicle, which was traveling southbound on Marshall Road. Barton then allegedly fled the scene at a high rate of speed. A witness advised officers the truck involved in the crash was in the parking lot at a nearby McDonald’s. Officers located Barton. He was placed under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident, red light violation, unsecured load and driving under suspension and transported to the Middletown City Jail.
