Springfield police are investigating a burglary at a Springfield Family Dollar.
Police were called to the store on South Limestone Street on Wednesday and met with a representative. There, they found that electronic items had been taken including a Bluetooth speaker, a gaming headset, a massage pillow and earmuffs.

“(The representative) stated that when she arrived to work this morning she noticed the back door of the business was standing wide open,” a Springfield police report says.
The store employee believed somebody may have been in the store the night before and was able to gather the stolen items and hid somewhere until store workers left for the night, the report says.
“At this point, (the store employee) believes the suspect may have exited through the rear door of the business after hours,” the report says.

Through an investigation, officers found that the business had surveillance cameras and they were able to view the footage.
“After reviewing the cameras, a camera in the storage room shows a subject walking around in there around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday,” the report says. “The camera cuts off before she was able to see if the subject was able to gather any items or where the subject exited the storage room form.”
No charges were filed at this time due to a lack of suspect information, the report says. Springfield police continue to investigate.
