Raids net drugs, cash, stolen weapon; 2 arrested

DAYTON — The RANGE Task Force raided a Butler Twp. motel room Thursday night, July 22, seizing a large amount of crack cocaine, heroin, money and drug paraphernalia.

According to authorities, the Regional Agencies Gun & Narcotics Enforcement officers obtained a federal search warrant for an address on Fairborn Avenue in Dayton. There the officers recovered a large amount of cash, a weapon stolen from a police officer and evidence of narcotics trafficking.

That led task force officers to ask for a second federal search warrant for a room at the Knights Inn. Two men — Daryl Stollings, 39, and James Hamilton, 30 — were arrested and taken to the county jail.

Stollings twice has been convicted of cocaine possession and once for aggravated burglary.
