Report: Mold levels normal in Miami County building

A report on mold testing at the Miami County Courthouse following allegations of employee health complaints and mold on ceiling tiles in the elections office showed "normal" mold levels.

Air testing at the Board of Elections office on the Courthouse first floor was done for the county by Environmental Doctor of Dayton, according to a report dated Aug. 18.

The testing was done Aug. 13 after Dave Fisher, a county commission candidate, held a press conference saying a ceiling tile he had tested showed three types of mold in light or moderate levels. Fisher said he was told by employees they believed they had illnesses related to mold.

Commissioner Jack Evans said last week the county had not received any employee health complaints.
