One driver pulled off Little York Road around 10:15 p.m. into the parking lot, with two other vehicles following.

“They weren’t here eating or dining or drinking or anything. They just pulled in from the road,” said Ariel Alexander, manager of the Little York Tavern. “As far as we know, he just picked this parking lot out of the many to pull in to get away of whatever was happening.”
A Vandalia police report indicates three people came out of the other two vehicles and came toward the victim in the first car. One of those people punched the victim in the face before all three took off.
Alexander said by the time she and another employee came outside, medics were loading the victim into an ambulance and taking him to a hospital.
His injuries appeared so bad, a server told the manager she thought he was hit by a car instead of a fist. Alexander said she just hopes the victim recovers and police find out who is responsible.
“We did have police return later that night and do some interviews with our customers who might have seen something,” Alexander said.
The victim on Tuesday was listed in fair condition at Kettering Medical Center.
Police have not named any suspects, and did not return calls seeking information about how and where the road rage incident began.

A road rage incident on Saturday night escalated into an assault.
Crews were called around 10:15 p.m. to the Little York Tavern, 4120 Little York Road, for an assault victim who was taken to Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, according to Vandalia police dispatch.
It is not clear where the road rage incident began, but it ended at the tavern.
The victim’s name and extent of injuries were not available.
