Sleeping driver not happy being awakened in parking lot car

Agitated and non-responsive after being awakened at 1:36 a.m., from sleeping in his car with the driver’s door open parked in a bar lot in the 3800 block of Wilmington Pike, the suspect asked if he could first “compose himself.”

This was after the officer asked for some identification, receiving the reply, “All day.”

He couldn’t compose himself fast enough as the officer pulled him from the vehicle, noticing his pants were unzipped. There was also a wet spot on the pavement next to the door. It hadn’t been raining.

Inside the vehicle several bottles and cans of various beers were found, some of them not yet open, others already consumed. Apparently drinking in the vehicle was better than in the bar, which didn’t have a place to sleep.

The man was arrested for disorderly conduct/public intoxication and taken to the Kettering jail.
