The Lebanon man in the Warren County Jail in connection with his father's fatal shooting told a 911 operator that the shooting occurred after he grabbed away the gun.

“I took it from him. I fired and I shot him,” Freddie Green said in a 911 call reporting the incident. “I took the gun from him. He said something about grabbing another gun, so I fired.”

Green, 42, called 911 after allegedly shooting his father, Sidney Green, 64, in the bedroom of their home on Oxford Drive in Lebanon.

Sidney Green was shot once in the head, according to the Warren County Coroner’s Office.

Green is charged with felonious assault in Lebanon Municipal Court. A domestic violence case was dismissed by Municipal Judge Mark Bogen at his arraignment Monday.

Green remained in the Warren County Jail on Tuesday on $500,000 cash bond.

This is the sixth person since July to die in a domestic violence incident in Warren County.

In the 911 call, Green said it was the second time his father had recently threatened him with a gun during a family disturbance.

“He said he was going to shoot me. He had the gun loaded, cocked, bullet in the chamber and my little brother stopped him,” Green told the dispatcher.

On Friday, Green called 911 at 8:38 p.m. to report the shooting. He was arrested and taken to jail by police.

He is scheduled to return to Lebanon Municipal Court on Dec. 12, unless he is indicted by a grand jury.
