Springboro teacher cited in sex sting at state park

LEBANON — A Springboro teacher has been put on paid leave after receiving a citation last week during an undercover sting for illegal sexual activities at Caesar Creek State Park.

C. Greg Sandlin, 57, of Waynesville, was issued a summons for public indecency, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, on Sept. 8 by a state park officer.

Sandlin allegedly went up to a male undercover park officer who was sitting on a picnic table in a shelter at the 50 Spring picnic area of the park and engaged in a sexually explicit conversation. During the conversation, Sandlin allegedly began to touch himself and reached over to touch the undercover officer’s chest, according to a police report.

After the undercover officer identified himself and was writing the court summons, Sandlin said he was a teacher in the Springboro school district, the report said.

Sandlin is listed as a special education teacher at Five Points East Elementary School, according to the district’s website. Springboro interim superintendent Gene Lolli said Sandlin was placed on paid administrative leave on Thursday, Sept. 16.

Lolli said Sandlin has worked in the district for about four years. He also said he was not aware of issues concerning Sandlin.

Sandlin has hired attorney Charlie Rittgers of Lebanon, but no pre-trial hearing has been set.
