Suicide victim at Dayton garage ID'ed

The Montgomery County Coroner's Office has identified a woman witnesses said jumped to her death Friday morning from the garage attached to the Kettering Tower.

The woman was found in an alley next to 40 N. Main St. at about 9:30 a.m., the coroner's office said in a statement released Friday evening.

The coroner's office issued a release to the public Friday afternoon to help identify the woman, who had left no note or ID on her person. Late Friday night, the coroner said the victim had been successfully identified.

Friday's incident is the second recent suicide in which someone has jumped from a downtown parking garage. On Dec. 17, a University of Dayton student jumped to his death from the ninth story of the Montgomery County parking garage at Fifth Street and Main streets.
