SWAT response cancelled in search for wanted person, no arrests

Dayton police have cancelled their request for SWAT to respond to Parnell Avenue for the search of a wanted person.

Officers on scene and dispatchers were unclear why the response was cancelled and there have been no reports of anyone taken into custody.

Nearly all units that initially surrounded the residence have been cancelled as well, according to police scanner traffic.

Dispatchers said the incident started as a domestic violence report with shots fired.

No other details were available.

Officers have requested members of the Dayton SWAT to respond to Parnell Avenue for the search of a wanted person.

Police scanner traffic indicates all surrounding streets and alleys have been blocked for the investigation. Police are still working to make contact with neighboring residents to ask them to leave for safety purposes, initial reports indicate.

Multiple Dayton police officers have surrounded a residence on Parnell Avenue due to a search for a wanted subject.

Officers are in the area of Parnell and Huffman avenues searching for a man wanted in an earlier domestic situation, police tell our crew at the scene.

Police scanner traffic indicates officers are using bull horns to give commands to the occupants inside.

Initial reports also indicate officers are working to ask residents of neighboring homes to leave the area until the situation is resolved.

Dispatchers said a request for a SWAT response has not yet been made.
