A man was hit with a Taser on Monday night when he tried to run from law enforcement officers in the area of the Summit Square apartments.
Police and Montgomery County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Summit Square Drive at about 11:10 p.m. on a report of gunfire in the neighborhood.
Police tell us that the man, believed to be in his 20s, ran when officers arrived on scene to investigate the weapons complaint.
The man is likely to be charged with burglary because he either fled to or tried to enter an apartment, according to police. He was hit with the Taser not long after that.
A large crowd gathered, and that prompted police to call for extra officers.
His injuries from the Taser are not believed to be serious.
