Trial set for ex-Miamisburg teacher accused of sex crimes

The trial of a former Miamisburg teacher accused of multiple sex crimes against a middle school student is set to go forward next week.

A Montgomery County judge said Monday Centerville resident Jessica Langford, 32, will face trial starting April 10.

Langford was indicted in November on three counts of sexual battery and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, whom county Prosecutor Mathias Heck Jr. described as a 14-year-old.

She is accused of having oral sex and intercourse with a student “on or about May 23,” according to court documents. Langford has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has remained free on conditional recognizance since the indictment, court records show.

Langford resigned from Miamisburg schools May 24, shortly after being informed of the allegations, according to school district records.

She was hired as a student teacher in the Miamisburg district in 2006 and served in a similar capacity in Dayton Public Schools, records show.

Miamisburg City Schools records obtained by this news organization show Langford had a solid tenure in the district. She was hired full time in August 2008, serving nearly nine years at three schools while receiving good evaluations, records show.
